Description
Finger jabbing and mouth wide open mid-bellow, this Queen of Hearts cardboard cutout captures the furious monarch in full rage. A gold crown set with red hearts tops her towering red and silver curls, and she grips a red and gold sceptre crowned with a jewelled heart. Her dark gown is scattered with gold-edged red hearts, trimmed with chains of tiny hearts and worn over a ruffled red underskirt, while puffed red sleeves, lace cuffs and a high, fan-shaped heart collar complete the regal look.
She is part of the Alice's Wonderland Characters range, an original Starstills design inspired by Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, where the bad-tempered Queen rules over a court of playing cards and orders "Off with their heads!" at the slightest excuse. She is the storybook villain of the tale.
Install her on a throne at the head of a Wonderland party so guests can line up to be "sentenced" in front of this photo prop, or position her beside the croquet lawn at a Mad Hatter tea party in the garden.
